• The Makefile
• A simple article, source is a.tex. You can compare L^AT_EX output (a.dvi) and H^EV^EA output a.html. The html output is generated with the french option set:

  # hevea a.tex
  

  While the text output generated with:

  # hevea -text a.tex
  

• The test suite: suite.tex and suite.html (see also suite.dvi and suite.txt).
• A full article, cut into pieces , with images (source is pat.tex, output is pat.dvi, pat.html and pat.txt). To yield this result, gpic is first applied to pat.tex, yielding tmp.tex; L^AT_EX and bibtex are then used to produce the appropriate tmp.aux and tmp.bbl files; finally H^EV^EA, H^AC^HA and imagen are run as follows:

  # hevea pat.hva -e pat.def tmp.tex
  # hacha -o pat.html tmp.html
  # imagen tmp
  

  Notice that the L^AT_EX style file pat.def is not loaded and that a simplified pat.hva is loaded.

  Using option “-fix”, imagen does not need to be run explicitely :

  # hevea -fix pat.hva -e pat.def tmp.tex
  # hacha -o pat.html tmp.html
  

  This example also serves as a test of H^AC^HA advanced features, direct access to the article conclusion and performance figures.

• How to use the latexonly and toimage environments inside other environments. Source files are env.hva and env.tex), output file is env.html. gpic, H^EV^EA and imagen are run as follows:

  # gpic -t < env.tex > tenv.tex
  # hevea env.hva tenv.tex -o env.html
  # imagen env
  

• The “Smile!” example, from the manual. Files are smile.hva, smile.tex and smile.html, command sequence is :

  # gpic -t < smile.tex > tsmile.tex
  # hevea smile.hva tsmile.tex -o smile.html
  # imagen smile
  

• A few amstex primitives, amstex.tex, amstex.dvi, amstex.html and amstex.txt. H^EV^EA is invoked as:

  # hevea [-text] amstex.tex
  

• The graphics package, graphics.tex and graphics.html. H^EV^EA is invoked as:

  # hevea graphics.tex
  # imagen graphics
  

• A lot of symbols, sym.html. Almost all the sympols provided by default and by packages latexsym, textcomp, amssymb and amsmath.
