Five year Fixed term Lectureship (Grade A) in Computer Science
Job Description
General
The postholder will be subject to the overall supervision of the
Head of Department, who, in consultation with him/her, will agree
specific teaching and administrative duties and responsibilities and
advise on career development.
Teaching
Organise and undertake teaching of undergraduate and graduate
students in the Department of Computer Science as agreed with the Head
of Department; this includes lectures, tutorials, practical work and
project supervision.
Set, invigilate and mark examinations and coursework, as
appropriate.
Research
Actively engage in research and publish the results of this research
in internationally refereed journals or conference proceedings.
Supervise research students.
Submit, singly or jointly with colleagues, proposals to funding
agencies for financial support for research including that for technical
staff, research staff, and students as appropriate.
Manage research funds and supervise research staff as appropriate.
Present research seminars and conference papers giving the results
of research work.
Administration
Undertake such administrative and other duties as are reasonably to
be expected of a University Lecturer and as agreed with the Head of
Department.
Attend Departmental, Sub Board, College and other meetings as agreed
with the Head of Department.
Other
Attend courses and conferences and engage in other activities
associated with professional development.
Comply with College and Departmental policies.
Undertake such other reasonable duties as may be required by the
Head of Department from time to time.
